Otočke Taktike 2021.

Logorun – Island Tactics is an interdisciplinary educational project focused on the revitalization of demilitarized and underutilized spaces through participatory planning methods. Established by the architectural studio Prostorne taktike d.o.o. in collaboration with the Municipality of Tribunj, the program aims to empower local communities to actively shape and sustainably manage their public spaces.

The inaugural edition of the seminar took place from September 16 to 19, 2021, on Logorun Island and at the Tribunj Social Center. This phase focused on a former Italian military complex—a 15-hectare site that once served as a donkey reserve before falling into disuse. Under the guidance of experts in architecture, urban planning, design, and sociology, an interdisciplinary group of students and local citizens worked to identify the spatial and programmatic potential of this unique zone. By analyzing the island’s layers of military history and natural heritage, the participants sought to propose interventions that respect the environment while introducing community-driven functions.

The workshop culminated in the creation of five distinct visions, which were presented to the public on the final day. These proposals sparked a productive dialogue with the local community regarding short-term and long-term island management and potential future realizations. The workshop’s outcomes provide a vital foundation for a strategic management plan for Logorun and serve as a prototype for addressing similar neglected coastal landscapes. Ultimately, the project fosters a culture of sustainable spatial planning by bridging the gap between professional expertise and public engagement, ensuring a resilient future for the archipelago.
